All About Jaguars

Kia ora my name is Sophia, and I am going to be doing a report and I am going to be talking about something in the cat’s family, something that can jump really high, something that has really beautiful dotted dots on the covered skin. It is the dotted Jaguar! Now I am going to talk about how high a jaguar can jump, how far a jaguar can run, how a jaguar can climb a tree, what a jaguar can eat for pray, How can a jaguar protect itself and 3 little facts of my own.

My first fact how high can a jaguar jump? Well my opinion of how high a jaguar can jump is as high as a giraffe's head, but the real amount of how high a jaguar can jump could be 21 meters.

How far can a jaguar run? My opinion of how far a jaguar can run is actually 51 meters. The fastest speed of a jaguar could be 50 miles per hour.

How can a jaguar climb a tree? My opinion of the question how can a jaguar climb a tree is that a jaguar can climb a tree by using its sharp claws and dig it into the tree and climb and that’s the real answer. Otherwise they would be jumping up or they might not be able to climb a simple tree.

How can a jaguar protect itself ? Their only sure predators are human, black caimans,  especially anacondas, they protect their baby’s by holding them by their mouths. It looks quite hurtful.

What a jaguar can eat for prey ? A jaguar is known to eat a deer, peccary, crocodiles, snakes, monkeys, sloths, tapirs, turtles, eggs, frogs, fish and all the other species they catch.

                              

My 3 last facts I am going to do. My first fact is it is known that there are six out of 100 black jaguars, like I knew that. Next fact jaguars are great swimmers and they swim across the river with their big paws while they swim, they keep their heads above water. Finally my last fact some jaguars live in Mexico and south America and most live in Amazon rain forest then some other cats live far from people.

The Trouble game

This is my game called trouble that I have been working on with my partner Ryleigh. We have, well  I have been doing some stuff with the instructions and Ryleigh. The Last Day of Swim School

Hi I am back and I am here to talk about the last day of swim school. So here we go, know my instructor he said I was getting better and my group they are fab know lets get to the real part so today my instructor Andrew he is great he is wonderful and I just want to give him a thumbs up. Know today we which is my big group and myself did some back strokes  twice around the pool and then we got a partner and we pulled each other with a swim school noodle. After that we jumped off the edge and jumping in the pool while we were in the pool we back stroked to the closest flags near us. Then as soon as we were finished we all went to Hornby Primary School. Here are 1 picture and here is 1 video. I hope you enjoy. BYE

My first Amazing lesson at swim school

Hi I'm back and I am going to go to talk about the best and I mean the best swim school in the world. So I have got this amazing swimming instructor and his name is Andrew he is a really nice person and he has a nice personality. Also when he explains stuff like how to do a free style he explains it really easy for the group to understand.  Now about my group I have 8 people in my group and their names are Shanarnia, Tom, Natrue, Risha, Shalizeh, Anthony,  Tahnesha and myself. I gotta tell you I think that Tehnesha is one of the best in my group shhhhhh don't tell my instructor. Na just kidding you don't even know him my instructor anyway. Or do you? My awesome puzzling mystery of crop circles

WALT: Create a model that shares something we have learnt about our mysteries.

This term we have been learning about mysteries. One of them is called crop circles and that is what I am working on which I have finished. I have been grouping up with two of my friend's called Brooke and Tasharn. They were my helpers with the crop circle. Other mystery's are called Roswell, Easter Island, Lost City of Atlantis, The Bermuda triangle, Power of the Pyramids and The Loch ness monster. I have been working on crop circles for a few weeks but Brooke, Tasharn and myself finally finished. we made a few mistakes and thought that our creation was our plan so we had to start all over so we started and eventually we got to the part where we paint. Just like I said in division and remainders if you can't do it you just can't do it yet. For the past few weeks I have been working on this and I have been struggling to work on it and I thought I  could do it and it would be easy but it got harder and harder but I didn't give up and I finally finished it so I hope you like my video and I hope you enjoy bye

I have been working on Division and remainders and the PK standid for 6 things they were 1.Skip  2.Repeated addition 3.Times table 4.Division 5.Remainders and lastly Chang unknown. I worked really hard and I thought I could not do it but I just could not do it yet.

The Loch ness monster

This week I have been learning about mystery's and we had to chews one mystery so I chose the loch ness monster. I have been creating a google drawing and it looks great. I used the shapes to writ in them and make the picture in one of the shapes. I think I have done good on the picture that I have done.

Cultural Show

This term we have been looking at different cultures. For the last 3 weeks we have been learning a traditional cultural dance. I learnt the ti rakau. I felt very nervous because I thought that I wouldn't catch the ti rakau sticks but then I soon got used to it. I felt proud because I caught the ti rakau sticks and happy even though my parents weren't there.

In Ako Ngatahi we had to write a narrative about a video. It was about a boy opening a present that was a dog with three legs. Here is the video of the present. I hope you enjoy my story.

The Present

The Present

One day I was playing my video game. Then one minute later mum came in and I was annoyed. That’s because she keeps on making me clean but since I clean a lot she had a present in her arms. She put it on the table right in front of me. Then when the blinds were down and mum put them up and I couldn’t really see my game properly. It was confusing. Mum said to me that I could open the present because she bought it for me. I was surprised because it was a long time since she got me a present. When I opened it, it was a dog. Then when I looked at it I was like, wow cool. As soon as I picked it up I noticed that it has only three legs. I felt mad and disgusted because mum gave my a three legged dog. So I knocked over the box that the dog was in. It kept on jumping on my leg so I kicked it. I saw it curling up in the carpet. Then it saw a ball. It ran to it and it was so stupid that it banged itself into the drawer because the ball was under the drawer.  It was playing silly with the ball because of it’s disabled leg and I knew how he felt because my leg was disabled as well. So I got up and picked up my crutches and got the ball then went out to play with my dog. We played catch and we did tricks. It was so fun. And I was so glad that I have someone to play with at home.

My Super Learning Goal

I hope you liked my work. I worked really hard and I completed it. In three days. I had help with one. That one was the reading I was a dumb on that one. But I was watching that person help me. So I knew what to do with the others.

My Super Cyber Smart

On Thursday I went to Hornby High school and I saw John Parson. He was telling us about cyber safety and telling us silly jokes. He taught us about keeping safe online. This DLO can help you learn about keeping safe online. The jokes were pretty funny. Also John was pretty cool and very smart about cyber smart.
