Google EaRtH!!!

Hello everyomne and welcome back to an amazing day with this very cool blog post I am posting to show you what I have done today!

My task today was to finish off a task that is called google earth that I put information that talks about the country of Samoa. We all had a choice of countries to research about and put on an app/site called google earth, and then blog it. I chose Samoa, and I chose this country because I speak a little bit of Samoan but I want to learn more about this country and its beautiful land.

So I have put a link to the site that talks about the country and I hope you like it, have a nice rest of your day, BYE!!!

Back to School Trm 4 EdItIoN

Hello guys as you know it is now term 4 and we have started another term of school, knowledge and all kind of boring normal stuff. I am here to tell you about my first week of the term and what I have been up to! So this week I have started my softball season and I have been reunited with my awesome friends that I had meet during the last season of softball. I have also recently signed up for school softball which is really fun because then I get to play softball twice as much! I have also started athletics at my school and I had someone teach me very good techniques and strategy's for shot put and now I am really into that activity. I have come back to see all of my friends at school and I have been very well with the little kids that got to hang out with today "this Friday", which was very cool.

Hello wonderful people and welcome back to another term of awesome blog posts made by me. So today will be the first blog post of the term and it is going to be about my holiday and how it went, starting on the first week of the holidays, so, on Monday I had hung out with my friend Tayla and we had went to the pools to go for a swim and hang out. While I was playing I had saw my other friend Valley - rose and we had playing around in the so called "lazy pool". We then came back home asking if I could stay the night at her house, the question was accepted and I had stayed the night and we playing on out technology! That is all I can remember from the first week but let us talk about the second! Around the second week we had finished off moving our stuff into my dad's new house that we are now living in. I currently share a room with my youngest sister as my other sister has her own room because I have my own at my mum's house. It was also a day where I got to go on an amazingly big walk at Taylor's Mistake with my mum, as she is very active in lots of things, which made me want to invite Tayla "of course" to come with me on the adventure. We had walked up to the top of mountain and sadly we had to walk ALL the way down. A few days after that I had went to my dad's house and stayed at the amazing new house that I love, and I had worked on some maths so I can be ahead in my maths. I then stayed the night at Tayla's house on the last weekend of the holidays.

Crystalizers

Hello everyone and in today's blog post I am going to be showing you my slide show made by me, Tayla B, Olivia F, Brittney I, and Catherine. We had made a slide show talking about the materials that we would need to complete the task and the process/procedure about how to wake crystals. We did that for a sugar crystal experiment and a salt and borax crystal experiment. We then had to write the results for all the experiments and then put most of the information in another presentation. Here is the slide show and Have a nice rest of your day, BYEEE!!!!!

Sign Language

Hello guys today's blog post I am going to show you my video that was made by the awesome ME and SKYLAH!!!!!!!! We had made a video of us introducing our names in sign language. We had also put in some bloopers just to make you laugh! I hope you like it, BYE!!!

We have also shown you our rocket in the process. I had fun making up what we got to say in the animation! I hope you like it and have a nice rest of your day, BYE!!!

ThE BiG BaD WoLf?

In Yellowstone the wolves have had a big impact of the environment and have helped the animals that have regenerated in the environment. The flowers and plants have regrown and made a beautiful looking park for so many visitors of the area.

In France the wolves are very vicious and terrible in their point of view and the farmers fear of losing their flock from the wolves.

I think that wolves are supposed  to be in the world and that they are in the world for a purpose because what they have done already shouldn’t have to stop now and so they can keep thriving.

Melting Ice Science Experiment (AdObE SpArK)

Hello guys and in today's awesome blog post I am going to be showing you my amazing adobe spark about my very formal and descriptive piece of science writing report. I have done a report about what has happened in the latest experiment that I had done with my literacy group questioning what powder substance would melt and/or eat away at ice the quickest! I had been given the task to copy my report into an adobe spark web page and create a very cool page of your report. That is what I intended to do and I have completed it and I am very proud of it! I hope you like it and have a nice DAY!!!!!!!!! bye :)

Melting Ice Science Experiment

ICe SCiEnTIfiC RePoRt

 Wondering:

I know that salt eats away at ice, I wonder if any other powder substance can do the same.

Hypothesis:

I think that salt will be the quickest powder to melt the ice, and the sand will melt the ice the slowest.

Materials:

Salt, baking soda, citric acid, sand, sugar, containers, ice, measuring spoons, flat surface, timer, measuring cup, ¼ of a cup.

Variables:

Independent:

Powders,

Dependent:

Salt is coming in last. The baking soda has sped up its process, the sugar is going really fast.

Control:

The amount of ice, amount of powder, same temperature, same size ice cubes,

Procedure:

Pour ½ of water into separate bowls and put it into the freezer overnight.

Pour ¼ of a cup of each powder into a separate bowl/container each.

Pour your powders at the same time into their own container .

Shake the powders and shimmy them all around the ice so it is a faster process.

Start timing the ice straight away when the powders are on the ice.

Results/Observations:

The salt, baking soda, citric acid has sunk into the ice eating it quickly.

Sugar looks like it is melting the ice but the salt looks like it is absorbing the ice.

Sand is coming in last and isn’t really doing anything.

The sugar is melting the ice and not absorbing it but it is melting the ice making the sugar in the lead.

The citric acid looks like it has frozen with the ice.

There are air bubbles and spikes on the citric acid.

The sugar has gotten into the ice and has made a platform.

The sand is absorbing the ice water and it is getting wet.

The salt has made clumps and the access salt has sunk to the bottom.

The citric acid is the coldest.

The salt took 1 hour, 14 minutes and 36 seconds to melt the ice cube and was the fastest.

Conclusion:

The experiment helped my hypothesis and my hypothesis is true. The salt makes a lower power of the ice melting, when the salt is in contact with the ice it interferes with the little bits of the ice cube. The salt then mixes with the water melted off the ice cube and speeds up the process of melting the ice cube. If this were to be in a real life situation let's say that it was a slippery road or stairs on the concrete we could put salt in the ice to melt it.

Rocket Class Presentation

Hello everyone and in today's blog post I am going to be showing you my slide show of my groups idea about out rocket we have been creating these past 5 weeks and we had to talk about our fins, nose cone, weight, water, psi, and our flight success. It was TERRIBLE at the end because my partners had me talk in front of the WHOLE class. I did the slide by myself as well, anyways it was one of the best feelings of my life when I finished presenting it was ASTONISHING! So I hope you like it and have a nice rest of your day! BYE!!!
